Ty Cobb 2-Page Handwritten Letter

Ty Cobb 2-Page Handwritten Letter

Two-page letter penned on “T.R.C., Augusta, GA.” letterhead by the Georgia Peach and signed, “Ty” gives great incite into his role with Coca-Cola, whom he endorsed at the age of 20, and for whom he later served on the Board of Directors. On May 8, 1886, in The Peach State of Georgia, the earliest version of America’s all time most popular soft drink was concocted. On December 18 of that same year, baseball legend Ty Cobb was born. Little did he know then that he would go on to fulfill a prophecy of the most remarkable baseball legacy that ever lived, and also become a chief shareholder of Coca-Cola. In this letter dated October 26, 1922, he gives great insider information on the Coca-Cola stock: “Say, put your customers on Coca-Cola. My advice is from the real heads and directors of the camp, any who are my close personal friends - It goes on a 6 dollar a share dividend basis, Jan 1st, ’23 at present price that is close to 8% of your money but the price is sure to go to 100 or close, so one can mop up on the speculative to boot.” With original folds, o/w EX. Comes with original mailing envelope.
