As good as it gets. Conlon gem of the classic Cobb doing what he did best. Though the overripe Peach was 41 in this '28 photo of him in his last season, when he hit .323 for the A's, his eyes focus like two beebees on the pitch and his weight shift in striding to meet the ball is still poetry in motion. Cobb's look of lip-biting determination is ageless, and priceless. For Conlon collectors, the same can be said of the picture, on which he wrote on the back in blue pencil, "Ty COBB, With the Athletics toward close of his career," as well as "Conlon Photo. His purple ID stamp "Charles M. Conlon, Evening Telegram, New York" also appears. Photo is 6 1/2 x 8 1/4" and has some pinholes overall, EX.
