Ultimate 1972 Canada Russia Summit Series Collection
Richard Fallon made the trip to Russia in September of 1972 to cheer on Team Canada. His booty of souvenirs from the Series is perhaps the most impressive we have seen. Collection includes the impossible-to-find full bottle of Team Canada Seagrams Canadian Whisky (still sealed) presented to each traveler as the boarded the special flight bound for Moscow. Other items are the game program from Russia with rare line-up insert, a pair of stubs for game seven and eight (final game), his passport wallet containing vaccination certificate, Russian boarding pass, SAS airline ticket, baggage tags and United States Passport (signed by Maurice Richard, Jean Beliveau, Carl Voss, Punch Imlach, and others). Also included is a Russian practice puck caught in the stands, a Toronto Sun newspaper from Sept. 19, 1972 with Go Canada Go headline, a “Go Canada Go” pin-back button, full unopened packet of Russian cigarettes, 3 press box bulletins from the final game, seven snapshots taken on the trip and a group of six paper items including a one ruble note, a hotel receipt and the ticket to a live sex show in Copenhagen (hey, life is not just hockey!). Most impressive is a bread roll from dinner, hard as a rock but astonishingly well-preserved. Everything carefully documented and cataloged on individual 3x5 index cards. The most impressive collection we have ever seen
