Very Rare 1907-08 Detroit Tigers Silk with Ty Cobb

Very Rare 1907-08 Detroit Tigers Silk with Ty Cobb

A roughly 21-year-old Ty Cobb heads a list of 23 Detroit Tigers whose images are featured on this rare silk that was converted into a pillow case and commemorates back-to-back American League pennants. The image of a Tiger is showcased in the center, along with the wording: "Pennant Winner 1907, 1908." Fomer infielder and just-named manager Hugh Jennings appears at the top with "We-A-Ah Champion Tigers" surrounding his image. The silk - which is the first of its kind that we have come across - is clean and grades Very Good due to the fading of the images. The Tigers eked out the AL championship in both seasons before falling both seasons to the Cubs in the World Series - Chicago's last titles prior to last year's long-awaited triumph.
