Very Rare Michel Briere Pittsburgh Penguins Signed Index Card (PSA NM-MT 8)
Rare find in this index card single-signed by Pittsburgh Penguins center Michel Briere. Index card measuring 3x5" is signed in blue ballpoint ink on the blank side, with the lined side bearing pencil notations in unknown hand including his name, "Deceased," and "69-70." Indeed, Briere, a 3rd round pick in the 1969 draft, completed his lone season that year, putting up a solid 44 points with 12 goals in 76 games. Unfortunately, he suffered severe head injuries from a car accident during the off-season and spent nearly a year in a coma before passing away at the age of just 21. As a result, he had his uniform number 21 retired by the Pens, with the only other player in franchise history to receive that distinction being the magnificent Mario Lemieux himself. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA with auto grade of NM-MT 8; an exceptionally rare autograph in exceptional condition.
