Victorian Mutoscope - Risque

Beautiful red Victorian Mutoscope dates back to the Turn of the 19th Century and stands an impressive 56" high and 15" across. It is made of solid cast iron and weighs in excess of 200 pounds. The original key and a slot for pennies to activate it are included. The back has an elegent gold colored leaf. The film it shows is called "Mouse in the House" ( original first risque reel) which was very controverail for 1900. It shows two women jumping up on the table and lifting their skirts to show their legs in fear of a mouse. The header measures approximately 25" X 12" and shows a still from the "Mouse in the House". The lightbulb attached to the header is non-original but in vintage style. This desired piece is in working order and was manufactured by the American Mutoscope Company of New York, New York. NRMT
