Trio of canceled checks from the oldest most revered names in Major League baseball. Walter Johnson’s 1945 check, made out to Westminster Laundry in the amount of $4.25 is signed in green ink (although the rest of the check is not in his hand). Signature grades 8-9. Check has a puncture in the middle of the check, not near his signature, otherwise EX. Check measures 6x3”. Honus Wagner’s 1920 check to Mary Smith in the amount of $40.00 is signed in large, sweeping black fountain ink, “John H. Wagner.” Signature grades “8”, check is EX. Measures 8x3”. Ty Cobb’s 1955 check made out to Harry J. Latimer Co. in the amount of $10.00 is signed in green ink, which grades 8-9 out of a possible 10. With added note at bottom left, “In full settlement to date.” Check is EX, except for original mailing folds. Measures 8x3”.
