War Admiral Horseshoe - One of the Greatest Ever

War Admiral Horseshoe - One of the Greatest Ever

From the hoof of the fourth Triple Crown winner, this mounted horseshoe on black lucite base commemorates War Admiral, which was named Horse of the Year in 1937. At the bottom of the display is a silver engraved plaque reading "Shoe From War Admiral, Winner, Kentucky Derby 1937." The plaque is of the era and definitively art deco. The entire piece measures 7x10" and is a tremendous monument to the offspring of what was regarded as the greatest racehorse of all-time: Man O' War. Sourced from a 60+ year old horse racing collection in Kentucky, the horse racing capital of the world.
