Wayne Gretzky Game Used Easton Aluminum Stick

Wayne Gretzky Game Used Easton Aluminum Stick

Presented is a game used Eastern Pro Custom aluminum stick used by hockey's consensus GOAT, Wayne Gretzky. Listed at 6'0" and 185 lbs., Gretzky was not big for an NHL player, but he was certainly gifted with natural and developed skill. When it came to shooting the puck, Gretzky, a center, did not preach caution. "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take," was his advice. Following his own advice, Gretzky, known as "the Great One," scored an all-time NHL record 894 goals. As great a goal scorer as Gretzky was, he was even better as a playmaker. He registered an amazing 1,963 assists in the NHL, also an NHL record. Gretzky's favorite ploy was to use the offensive goal as a shield and take the puck behind the net. With his back to the boards, Gretzky had the puck on his stick as if it were a yo-yo on a string. If a defensive player pursued Gretzky from one side of the net, Gretzky would go the other way, and vice versa. Then, Gretzky could pass to whoever was open, or sometimes just sneak the puck to the corner of the net and score from close in. Gretzky played 20 NHL seasons, mostly for the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings, with shorter terms with the St. Louis Blues and the New York Rangers. Overall, Gretzky holds the all-time NHL scoring record with 2,857 points. Gretzky's name appears three times on the aluminum part of the stick and another time on the wood. There is a Gripper on the butt end, and there was tape removed from the blade. the stick exhibits light use - maybe one game.
