Wayne Gretzky Signed Game Issued Stick

Wayne Gretzky Signed Game Issued Stick

"I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been," said Hall of Fame center Wayne Gretzky in describing one of his tactics. Offered is a game ready signed Wayne Gretzky stick, signed by "the Great One" himself. Gretzky played 20 years in the NHL and a single season in the World Hockey Association (WHA). In the NHL, he mostly played with the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings, with shorter tenures with the St Louis Blues and the New York Rangers. The hardware that he won would require a large space to properly showcase all of the prestigious trophies and awards he received: Stanley Cup (4), Lady Byng (5), Ross (10), Smythe (2), Hart (9), and Pearson (5). In addition, he was a 15-time All-Star. In the NHL, among a plethora of records, Gretzky scored the most goals (894), the most assists (1.963), the most points (2,857) and the most hat tricks (50). Gretzky's tendency to skate behind the offensive goal and use the goal itself as a sort of screen to keep defensemen from him was an innovative technique that teams found difficult to combat. This TPS Response Plus Model C9 stick is red, a rarity. The stick is game ready, with a Gripper, but the stick shows no use. On the blade is a beautiful signature in silver marker, and above the signature Gretzky inscribed "Your friend," and he added his number "99" to fit artistically into the last part of his signature. Printed on the stick, in white letters and numerals, is "Gretzky 99." What an addition to any hockey or sports collection, a signed game issued stick from the consensus hockey GOAT, "The Great One," Wayne Gretzky.
