Wilfredo Benitez Fight Gloves - Hope Match
On May 23, 1981 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, World Light-Middleweight Champion Maurice Hope defended his title against the great Wilfredo Benitez. Benitez using his great skills won a unanimous 12-round decision and the title. Offered here are the gloves used by Benitez in this fight. The gloves are red leather, eight ounce, Cleto Reyes gloves with no laces. Benitez has signed each glove on the backhand. A rare offering from this great champion, comes with a letter of authenticity from Steve Lott who took possession of the gloves after the fight and who was part of the Benitez management team. Also comes with a video of the fight showing Benitez wearing the gloves in the ring.
