Willie Mays "Say Hey" Trademark Letter

Willie Mays "Say Hey" Trademark Letter

The 1954 season was one of the most memorable in Giants baseball history as they won their last World Series in New York City before moving west to San Francisco. Their star player - Willie Mays - was hitting his prime and his nickname "The Say Hey Kid" was just beginning to stick with fans and the media. This was also the season that saw the song "Say Hey Willie" recorded by the Treniers. Here's a letter from a fan to the team owner, Horace Stoneham, suggesting the club trademark the nickname and "Say Hey" and "Say Hey Willie." The typed and signed letter is in EX-MT condition with only some light creasing and toning. A 24-time All-Star, Mays is considered by many to be the greatest baseball player who ever lived.
