Wise Dan Race Worn Shadwell Turf Mile Horseshoe

Wise Dan Race Worn Shadwell Turf Mile Horseshoe

There hasn’t been a more popular and dominating older horse in our decade than the one and only “Titan of the Turf,” Wise Dan. This superstar gelding is the only horse in the history of the Eclipse awards to be voted Horse of the Year, Champion Older Horse, and Champion Turf Horse in consecutive years (2012, 2013) and is arguably the greatest American turf miler in the history of the sport. An eleven-time grade one winner, including back-to-back Breeders’ Cup Mile victories, Wise Dan retired from his craft with earnings of $7,552,920 and 23 wins from 32 starts. The winner of this offering will take home one of Wise Dan’s aluminum hind horseshoes worn during his smashing win in the 2012 Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland Racecourse. The shoe is mounted onto a solid cherry plaque and adorned with a solid brass nameplate. It was acquired through a fundraiser and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity by Wise Dan’s veterinarian, who obtained the horseshoe from the stable farrier.
