The warm-up sweater with the Philadelphia "P" insignia and socks with black stripes around the calf make Grover Cleveland Alexander look just as ready for gentlemen's tea as staring down National League hitters in this magnificent period shot. Note the bowlers and long black coats of the background figures. The 1911 publication date makes it one of the earliest photos of the Hall of Fame pitcher. Identification of Alexander and a label of "The Ring, Inc." addressed to Alexander from a man named Phil are on the back. This 5x7" photo is EX+.
