Card and Memorabilia Specialist
Here's the prerequisite for this position: You possess lots of hobby knowledge and are passionate about trading cards and/or sports memorabilia. You buy and sell on eBay, collect the "stuff", go to shows, and follow the latest news about either sports cards, memorabilia, or both. If this is you, then read on!
In this position, you will be responsible for processing incoming trading card and sports memorabilia consignments and purchases. You are the first to unbox and inspect the items, responsible for researching the pieces to determine history and value, and making sure it gets to the right inventory location. You will take notes to help our copywriters create accurate and compelling descriptions, recommend reserve pricing, and help forecast closing prices.
This is a highly critical role that ensures success for our clients and drives excitement and interest among our bidding customers.
You should be knowledgeable and passionate about sports memorabilia and trading cards, including grading if possible. Excellent organizational skills are necessary. You meet deadlines, have a high level of energy, and can multitask in a spirited, fast-paced environment with ease. You should enjoy ferreting out information about the items and discussing your findings with team members. Most importantly you are committed to helping produce the finest auctions in the industry and the best outcomes for our clients.
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but we are willing to work with experience.
Minimum of 5 years of overall experience in sports memorabilia and/or trading cards. Lifetime hobby enthusiasts are encouraged to apply!
An elevated level of interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with the team.
Proficient with Microsoft applications like Word and Excel.
Ability to work on our auction software. You must become proficient in entering and maintaining item inventories, descriptions and other data about items, sets, and cards.
