10/15/06 Santonio Holmes Pittsburgh Steelers Signed Game Worn "Rookie of the Week" Jersey (Photo-Matched to Two Games)
<p>Pittsburgh Steelers home jersey worn by wide receiver Santonio Holmes during his 2006 rookie season. Lelands has photo matched this jersey to two games in 2006, including one against the Kansas City Chiefs on October 15th, in which Holmes had two receptions for 58 yards and 13 rushing yards in Pittsburgh's 45-7 victory. For his efforts in that contest, Holmes was named the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. Holmes has also personally attested to the jersey's game use by inscribing in it in black Sharpie (grading 10/10) on the reverse numeral "1": "Santonio Holmes 10/Game Used Rookie Jersey!" The black mesh jersey features the number "10" on the front, reverse, and each shoulder. "Holmes" is lettered upon a black nameplate on the reverse, directly above the number. All numerals are applied in white tackle twill, while all letters are applied in gold tackle twill. A white strip tag in the collar bears the year and size ("06-40") in black numerals. The jersey is original as issued, and displays excellent use, including two team repairs (one on the nameplate and the other on the shoulder). A first-round selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, Holmes finished his rookie season with 49 receptions, 824 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Holmes enjoyed a successful nine-year NFL career, which was spent mainly with the Steelers and New York Jets. He retired in 2014 with 389 receptions, 6,030 yards, and 36 touchdowns.
