11/8/75 Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs Georgia Tech "Rudy Game" Ticket Sub PSA PR 1
Presented is a ticket stub to the Nov. 8, 1975 "Rudy Game," at Notre Dame Stadium, when the Fighting Irish defeated Georgia Tech 24-3 and Rudy Ruettiger, a walk-on from the scout team, finally got to play for Notre Dame, and in the game's final seconds, recorded a sack. The movie<em> Rudy</em> was released in 1993, and the film was directed by David Anspaugh and written by Angelo Pizzo, who were earlier in the same roles when they made another film about Indiana underdogs, <em>Hoosiers</em>. The <em>Rudy</em> film was a fictionalized version of Rudy Ruettiger's real story. In real life and in the film, Rudy had his heart set on playing football for Notre Dame, but his lack of ability, small size and poor grades (partially because of undiagnosed dyslexia), made his goal a seeming pipe dream. Rudy finally was accepted to Notre Dame and eventually made the scout team as an undersized walk-on defensive lineman. After an ordeal of overcoming one set-back after another, Rudy, both in reality and in the film, got into Notre Dame's final game of the 1975 regular season and amazingly sacked the Georgia Tech quarterback. The ticket stub measures 2x3.75", and it is for a $9.00 reserved seat. The ticket has been encapsulated and PSA graded PR 1. The stub has been encapsulated and graded PSA PR 1.
