1789 Noah Webster Signed Book
Noah Webster was most noted for publishing the first truly American dictionary in 1806. Then in 1828 he published <i>An American Dictionary of the English Language,</i> that surpassed the British version. Leather bound book is signed on the endpaper, “Noah Webster”. What’s interesting is bookplate identifies the original owner as Robert Webster Day (probably a relative). The signature is a bit light. The book is entitled <i>The History of Great Britiain – Fourth Volume</i> by Robert Henry D.D. The cover has detached from the book and there is some light foxing.
