1824 Tom Spring vs. Jack Langan Boxiana Boxing Coin
Extremely scarce 1824 Tom Spring vs. Jack Langan commemorative boxing coin. The brass coin was issued as a promo for the bare knuckle fight between the two pugilists. The coin was issued by English Boxiana volumes written by early Boxing journalist Pierce Egan. The front of the piece shows two bare knuckled fighters while the reverse has two boxing gloves with Boxiana above and Spring Lathan below them. The coin is in overall good condition with the main defect being a hole which has been carved through the center of the coin. The coin has a second hole near the outside edge of the coin which we believe is original to the manufacture.
