1824 Tom Spring vs. Jack Langan Boxing Token'
<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: 13px;">'Rare Tom Spring vs.Jack Langan brass commemorative token (included in Michael Mitchiner's <em>Jetons, Medalets and Tokens </em>and the <em>Catalogue of the Montague Guest Collection of Badges, Tokens and Passes</em>). Spring and Langan met twice in 1824 for the championship of England, with the former emerging the victor on both occasions. The front of the piece shows two bare knuckled fighters while the reverse has two boxing gloves with Boxiana above and <span style="background-color: #ffffff; color: #201f1e;">Spring and Langan below them</span>. The token is in overall good condition with the main defect being a hole which has been carved through the center. There is a second hole near the outside edge of the token which we believe is original to the manufacture. </span>
