1876 Hayes & Wheeler Campaign Flag

1876 Hayes & Wheeler Campaign Flag

Handmade 1876 Hayes & Wheeler campaign flag. Every piece of the Hayes & Wheeler campaign flag was hand cut, sewn and assembled, creating this rather large flag. Red, white and blue, this unique flag features hand-written "Hayes & Wheeler", one large star on one side and 24 stars on the other, perhaps dating this flag older than 1876. Remembered as the closest election we've had in terms of electoral votes (185 - 184), this was also a case where the candidate with the larger number of popular votes lost. This keepsake is very fragile, has thinning areas, a few tears and evidence of some repair. 3 x 5'. Presents well overall and is truly an interesting piece of presidential memorabilia.
