1879 Billy Reilly Lightweight Championship Presentation Indian Clubs (Pair)
This set of solid wood clubs are dated 1879 and were presented to Billy Reilly by Arthur Chambers. Chambers was a lightweight who fought from 1864-79. He won the American Championship from Billy Edwards in 1872. He briefly retired in 1877 but came back in 1879. From a tremendous Mid-West collection, these 26" tall clubs are impressive and rarely seen. Originally used in the gym, boxers used these to aid in their training. Completely original and unrestored these clubs have a tremendous appearance and are a must for any early boxing enthusiast.
