1880s Buffalo Bill Cody Handpainted Wild West Wagon Panels (2)

1880s Buffalo Bill Cody Handpainted Wild West Wagon Panels (2)

Two marvelous handpainted wood panels come directly from one of the wagons used in his Wild West Show. They were devised as advertising vehicles to draw traffic into this town to town road show. They date from the 1880s, each shows a detailed, color scene from Buffalo Bill & the Wild West. Beautifully hand-painted, they measure 19.25" x 14" and 21.15" x 13.75". There is some fading, but the appearance is still vivid. One of the most beloved characters from the Old West, "Buffalo Bill" Cody received the Medal of Honor in 1872 for service to the U.S. Army as a scout. He is a true symbol of the Old West combined with pure American capitalism.
