1880s "Village of Brooklyn" Handpainted Fire Truck Gate
This striking sign from the 1870s comes from a firetruck gate in the "Village of Brooklyn." No, not that Brooklyn, but it might as well be since the only thing giving it away is a brass plate that reads "Patent Manf'd by Fire Extinguisher MF'G CO Chicago, ILL'S." An amazing folk art painting in glorious detail, with all original paint and stunning gold lettering and accents on a red backdrop. Actually hails from Brooklyn, OH. Unlike anything we have ever seen.
