1883 Brooklyn Bridge Opening Invitation

1883 Brooklyn Bridge Opening Invitation

This 6.5x9" piece was issued to William H. Folk, who was a Union Civil War veteran, a police detective, and captain of New York's 12th Precinct. The invitation reads, "The Trustees of the New York Brooklyn Bridge request the honor of the presence of William H. Folk at the Opening Ceremonies to take place on Thursday, May twenty fourth, at two o'clock P.M.". It was printed on cardstock by Tiffany & Co.. There is an old stain in the bottom right corner. The piece has discolored a bit over time. The Brooklyn Bridge has been beautifully depicted in this vintage piece of memorabilia.
