1887 Kalamazoo Bats Harry Stowe (Stovey)

1887 Kalamazoo Bats Harry Stowe (Stovey)

He was born Harry Duffield Stowe. He played as Stovey rather than Stowe (his real name) so that his mother would not see his name in box scores. Stovey combined slugging power with great running speed and a strong arm as a member of the Philadelphia Atheltics as well as five other teams across the span of his career. This rare Kalamazoo Bats version features Stovey with his hands on his hips. Card is VG to VG/EX with mild, even corner wear all around. There is a crease from the top of the card that extends down and touches the left side of Stovey’s cap. The crease shows through on the reverse.
