1890's Syphilis Museum Display

1890's Syphilis Museum Display

Haunting 1890's wax display was taken from a Medical Museum in Argentina. Figure is the eyes and forehead of a Syphilis victim. Her face is covered in a cloth, exposing only her closed eye lids and forehead, which are covered by small red dots, representing the syphilis affliction. In a plexiglas display marked, "Sipilis Roselas", it is a fascinating look at 19th century medical standards. Artist's name is painted below the wax figures left eye. Excellent condition.
