1891 Trinity College Autographed Football Carte-de-Visite
A signed football CDV? WOW! CDV's were the earliest football cards & an identified team very rarely comes up for sale. One of the top teams of the day was Trinity College, they played such teams as Harvard, Yale and even crushed Columbia 54-0. The uniformed players are identified as George Hartley and Richard Henry Macauley & great inscription on verso: "Presented to Miss Edith Ward by her latest conquest. The Freshman Richard Henry Macauley." Beautiful piece.
