1892 John L. Sullivan vs. James J. Corbett Program and Ticket
One of the seminal bouts in boxing history, and certainly the most famous match of the 19th Century, Sullivan vs. Corbett was a battle not only for the Heavyweight Championship of the World but for the future of the sport itself as it pitted The Boston Strong Boy's full-on rushing attacks against Gentleman Jim's new scientific boxing techniques.Program cover features stunning Victorian graphics and lettering with "Souvenir Program. Official Olympic Club...September 5th, 6th & 7th 1892." Covers are detached and well worn with paper loss on the borders plus tape remnants. Interior pages are quite clean and nice.
