1896 Pittsburgh Pirates Program Proof Cover

1896 Pittsburgh Pirates Program Proof Cover

Gorgeous colors and vintage 19th Century artwork sets this rare printer's proof apart, as both the front and back covers are on display. The program measures 18.5" x 14.5" inside its frame. It is in VG-EX condition with a fold down the center and minor blemishes around the edges. The 1896 Pirates finished in the middle of the National League pack (6th out of 12 teams) with a 66-63-2 record. The most notable tidbit about this mediocre team was that it was helmed by player-manager Connie Mack, who finished his playing career that season and was on his way to a Hall of Fame managerial career.
