1897 Corbett-Fitzsimmons Postcard
Nice addition to anyone's boxing collection. Heavyweight Championship bout in Carson City, Nevada. A one cent postcard by which one could order home delivery of The World (New York) newspaper on four different dates, surrounding the March 17th. date of the fight, in order to read coverage of the fight. Grading is absurd, pencil mark could easily be erased (3.5x 5.5"). The card includes a sketch of John L. Sullivan, touting his upcoming report on the fight scheduled to be in The World. Fitzsimmons took the championship with a 14th. round knockout.
