1897 James J. Corbett v. Bob Fitzsimmons Counter Display Box
Absolutely magnificent “Heavyweight Brand” boasts paper litho on wood inner label image right out of the pages of Richard Fox. The boxers illustrated don’t just look like Corbett and Fitzsimmons, they ARE the boxers. One of two we have seen, this is the better of the two. 14x16x3”. Russell Frazier Wire Manufacturers is the company, and there is wood-burned period advertising on the outside as well. VG-EX. Corbett, a San Francisco native, was known to some as the "Father of Modern Boxing" while Fitzsimmons, a Brit, distinguished himself as the sport's first three-division world champion.
