1898, 1911, 1921 Yale vs. Princeton Football-Shaped Programs

1898, 1911, 1921 Yale vs. Princeton Football-Shaped Programs

The Ivy League dominated college football at the turn of the 20th century, and Princeton and Yale were two national powerhouses of the game. These three unique football-shaped game programs are from games from this traditional rivalry. The binding on the 1911 and 1921 programs look like the stitches on a football. The first is dated November 12, 1898, and features captains Burr Chamberlain of Yale and Art Hillebrand of Princeton on the cover. The date of the game is also carefully handwritten on the cover. The second is from November 18, 1911. It is unscored and features the names of both teams in bold black writing on the cover along with the date. The final program is from November 12, 1921, and has a few pieces of black tape on the creases. Each of these programs is in VG-EX condition and features original advertising. These programs take us back to the origins of the game we love.
