1898 Corbett-Sharkey Program
One of only a handful known to exist, this is the program from the second bout between Tom Sharkey and James J. Corbett, which took place in 1898 at the Lenox Athletic Club in New York City. The two had previously squared off in 1896, with the fight ending in a draw after four rounds due to police interference. Their second meeting didn't go any smoother. After nine rounds, Corbett was disqualified after his cornerman repeatedly tried to enter the ring, and, sensing that this was deliberate and an attempt to throw the bout in favor of Sharkey, referee John Kelly declared all bets off. This program has undergone some expert restoration and is an absolute treasure.
