The collection includes an original hand written letter by Oliver Wolcott, Jr., the Secretary of the Treasury succeeding Hamilton under President Washington. There is also a signed hand written document by John C. Calhoun, Vice President of the U.S. under John Quincy Adams. There are signed cuts including W.H. Washington Congressman from NC, John Armstrong member of the Continental Congress, Ben F. Butler AG under Presidents Jackson and Van Buren, William Eustis Secretary of War, Garret Dorset Wall Governor of NJ, Henry D. Gilpin A.G. under President Van Buren, Cuthbert Powell Congressman from Virginia, George H. Proffit Congressman, Lewis Williams of No. Carolina, Thomas Lyon Hamer , John "One Arm" Pope Governor of Arkansas, Ben W. Crowninshield Secretary of the Navy from Massachusetts and many more. Most signatures rate 8-9 out of 10. This is an exceptional collection that is nicely preserved and well organized.
