1900's Roger Bresnahan Game Used Mitt
He was the first catcher inducted to the Hall of Fame, and caught, during his illustrious career, such great pitchers as Mathewson and McGinnity. Who knows what dead ball-era masters honed in on the supple padding of this super-early mitt as they tried to buzz one past Honus Wagner or Frank Chance? The possibilities, the men who shared the diamond with this astounding relic--it boggles the mind. Though, of course, few names hold the power of the man's whose left hand occupied this "Reach" brand glove. And as to condition, it could hardly be any better. The leather is worn, of course, but there is no tearing, no significant damage to speak of. Short of a missing button to the button-back strap, it's really ready to hit the field again (please don't do this though!). How could such an important and aged memento remain in such gorgeous condition. Originally obtained from Bresnahan family. LOA.
