2001 Rickey Henderson 3,000 Hit Game Worn Batting Helmet
What was going through the future Hall of Famer's head when he cracked hit number 3,000? Well, we can't be sure, but we do know what was protecting it--this San Diego Padres batting helmet! Battle-scarred headgear was worn by Henderson as he joined that famous and exclusive club, further ensuring his immortality in baseball lore. "Diamond Collection, American Baseball Cap [size] 7 1/4" stickers inside, with "7 1/4, '99" scratched under the visor. Number "24" sticker on back. Following the feat, Henderson had all of his teammates sign the helmet in silver sharpie (note fellow Club member Tony Gwynn). Of course, Henderson's signature is here too. Acquired directly from Rickey, with his LOA.
