1900s Holy Cross & Colby Trophy Balls (7)

1900s Holy Cross & Colby Trophy Balls (7)

Fabulous collection of trophy baseballs are all handpainted and original. Recently discovered in New England they are from all New England Colleges including Holy Cross, Colby Tufts and more. These early 1900s baseballs were used in these red games and then painted in school colors with appropriate scores as a permanent reminder and to brag to the world. Few of these baseballs now exist as college baseballs such as these have been remade into more expensive golden forgeries of the early "major league" teams. As such these are rare as hen's teeth. These make a stunning display and rarely if ever are they found in such quantity and such linkage. Excellent condition overall, and fresh to the market. These are magnificent examples of early baseball folk art.
