1902 Billiards Stained Glass Windows Set of Three

1902 Billiards Stained Glass Windows Set of Three

This trio of stained glass windows was custom designed in 1902 for a Lumber Baron for his partial home in York, Pennsylvania. Sports-related stained glass of the period are nearly impossible to find, let alone a set, we have only ever owned one. All done by the same art nouveau, two of the three are billiards. Each are beautifully designed with leaded edges in an art nouveau pattern. Colors are magnificent as is condition. Stress cracks are part of the pattern as all in matching spots. In the first window is a parlor gentleman chalking a billiards cue. Second and best of all is a serious player leaning over the table taking a shot with table ball beside. Third is behatted spectator smoking a pipe. All are dressed in clothing befitting gentlemen of a century prior giving them a colonial look. Design is exact, they perfectly match and are in original window frames and original condition right from the home. These are interior windows used for inner room and therefore not exposed to the elements. Glass itself is 14x28" and overall with panes and latches are 20x32". When light is shown through these the colors really come alive and make for a true work of sports art. These would look amazing and functional in your office, home or museum.
