1906 John L. Sullivan Handwritten and Signed Letter
From one of the greatest fighters to ever put on the gloves, in addition to going bare knuckled. Some of his fights went on for over three hours. One fight went 75 rounds before he knocked his opponent out. Letter is written in black fountain pen to his jeweler, James Niven on December 27, 1906, ten months after his final bout in the ring. Letter is two pages in length and signed in full on the second page of the Hotel Wayne (Ohio) stationery. Writing and signature are NRMT. Letter concerns a ring that he wants made with the engraving "J.L.S. to F.H." Pages are EX and very delicate at the mailing folds. Also comes with original envelope filled out in John L.'s hand.
