1909-11 T206 Collection of 335 Different Cards (F-VG/EX)

1909-11 T206 Collection of 335 Different Cards (F-VG/EX)

An incredible lot of the premier pre war sports card collectibles. These cards were included as premiums in tobacco products over a three-year span and this lot grades from FAIR to VG-EX with the average of the lot about VG. Many of the cards are very difficult because of the variations of poses, and each pose is identified for each of the key cards listed. This fantastic lot includes many, many Hall of Famers. A predominance of this collection features Sweet Caporal backs from all three series issued. There are 18 Piedmont backs, 5 El Principe de Gales backs, and 1 Cycle back. The following are some of the key cards and they are very conservatively graded and crease(s) are noted: Ty Cobb Bat on Shoulder (VG-EX+), Ty Cobb Portrait Red Background (VG-EX), Cy Young Pitching Front View (VG+), Cy Young Portrait (VG+), Hughie Jennings Dancing for Joy (EX), Hughie Jennings Yelling – 2 corner creases (G), Mordecai Brown Cubs Across Chest (VG+), Mordecai Brown Chicago Down Chest (VG), Mordecai Brown Portrait – 2 minor surface creases (G-VG), Christy Mathewson Pitching, Dark Cap (EX+), Addie Joss Portrait (VG+), Addie Joss Ready to Pitch (VG+), Joe Tinker Hands on Knees (EX-), Joe Tinker Portrait (VG), Nap Lajoie Throwing (VG+), Chief Bender Portrait – lower left corner crease (VG), Willie Keeler Portrait (VG+), Willie Keeler Batting (VG), Eddie Collins Portrait (VG+), Frank Chance Cubs Across Chest – lower right corner crease (VG), Frank Chance Chicago Down Chest – surface crease (VG), Eddie Cicotte – 2 small surface scratches (VG), Johnny Evers Cubs Across Chest – crease (G), Johnny Evers Portrait – surface wear and lower right corner crease (G), Elmer Flick (VG), Walter Johnson Ready to Pitch – multiple creases (F-G), Walter Johnson Portrait - 2 creases (G), Rube Marquard Portrait - Piedmont (G), Rube Marquard Standing (G), Joe McGinnity Newark – lower right corner crease (G/VG), Tris Speaker – several creases (F-G), and Ed Walsh crease from top into hair (G). Some of the other highlights in this lot include F to VG-EX examples of Jake Beckley (Kansas City), Chief Bender (No Trees), Roger Bresnahan (Portrait and Batting), Al Burch (Batting), Hal Chase (Portrait-Pink Background and Throwing with White Cap), Jack Chesbro, Fred Clarke (Batting and Portrait), Gavvy Cravath (Minneapolis), Sam Crawford (Throwing), Bill Dahlan (Boston), George Davis, Mike Donlin (Fielding and Sitting), Joe Doyle (Hands Over Head), Clark Griffith (Portrait and Batting), Hughie Jennings (Portrait), Sherry Magee (Portrait), John McGraw (Pointing), Harry Pattee, Rube Waddell (Pitching), and Vic Willis (Pitching, Batting, and Pittsburgh).
