1909 First Game at Forbes Field Ticket
Extremely rare and historic Pittsburgh Pirates ticket stub from the first game ever played at Forbes Field on June 30, 1909.Although the stub is undated, it was printed "First Game," "Forbes‚ Field" and features an image of a diamond in the background that reads, "1909 National League 1909."The Cubs came from Chicago to help break in the new engineering marvel that was Forbes Field and unfortunately beat the Pirates 3-2 in front of 30,000+ eager Pittsburgh baseball enthusiasts.This example measures 1.75x1.25", shows some wrinkling and slight paper loss on the verso from previous scrapbooking; front presents very well. Seldom seen and first we‚ve ever encountered, this ticket is truly a special early baseball relic.
