1909 Jack Johnson vs. Stanley Ketchel Oversized Photo by Dana
This photo (VG), mounted to 10.75x12", shows Stanley Ketchel and Jack Johnson during the fight of 1909. Johnson looks like he was just trying to break his fall by putting his left glove onto the floor of the ring, so this could have been taken towards the very end of the fight. Johnson claimed that Ketchel won by throwing a "sneak" punch, but old film footage shows it was not. Johnson could not believe that Ketchel had won, that a middleweight had beat a heavyweight. The front of the photo is marked with, "Dana Photo, S.F.".
