1909 Opening of Forbes Field Championship Plate

Made in Germany, which made the finest ceramic and porcelain of the period, this plate is delicately hand-painted with a transfer of the newly built home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Forbes Field, with gold gilting on the edges. Mentions the "Champion Pirates Baseball Park" as the 1909 Pittsburgh team won the National League pennant and their first World Series. The plate has a German mark on the bottom, measures 6" diameter, and is NRMT.
