1910's Harry Hooper Game Worn Cap

1910's Harry Hooper Game Worn Cap

An absolutely astounding piece, and unparalleled in terms of provenance. This teammate of the rookie Ruth, and fellow resident of Baseball's Hall of Fame, wore this charming and wonderful pinstriped cap as a member of the Red Sox during the era of their final World Championship glory. Condition is remarkably strong for a piece of this vintage, with "Partidge's Athletic Goods" tagging still inside cap, and, short of a few moth holes under the visor and some foxing and yellowing throughout, a beauty to behold. How many Red Sox caps (or any professional caps for that matter) could exist from these days? And then, how many of those are from top Hall of Famers? And the provenance, you ask? Handwritten index card reads, "This is a Red Sox cap I used while playing with the Red Sox during the years from 1909 thru 1920, Harry Hooper." Can you beat that? We didn't think so.
