1910-11 T3 Turkey Red Christy Mathewson - SGC 55 VG/EX+ 4.5
Graded by SGC 55 VG/EX+ 4.5. It is the pitching pose which helped "The Big Six" win 373 career games, and dominate the 1905 World Series by pitching three complete game victories without allowing a single run! The picturesque Mathewson stands tall before a beautiful pastel blue sky, and lush green grass, an image with superb registration and smooth surface, without a single flaw in the confines of the colorful framed portion. While the border exhibits light toning high along the left side, all four corners still come to right angles, the upper left has a small half-inch crease with the lower right containing a small ding. A clean checklist reverse shows the 75 subjects available in the Turkey Red redemption program. Always one of the game's most admired superstars, there might not be a better baseball card to own of Christy Mathewson than the T3, with this example one of the finer eye appealing specimens available.
