1910-12 Cornell University Sports Scrapbook
One of the finest sports scrapbooks we have seen. Red cloth bound with white Cornell "C" on front. School-issued with owner's name "Theophilus Johnson Jr." in gilt. Measures stunning 16.5x12.5x2". Not many clippings, but real memorabilia. Best of all it is beautifully done and the memorabilia has been brilliantly preserved. Baseball: Circa 1910 Princeton-Cornell program & ticket (with special newspaper & real photo postcard of the team), 1911 Yale-Cornell program & stub with special pass & photo, 1911 Intercollegiate Champs real photo postcard, 1912 Yale-Cornell program & stub, 1912 Penn-Cornell program & stub, Penn Cornell program. Football: "Beat Penn" broadside, 1911-12 ticket book (generic) with forty separate tickets & inside real photo of owner (good for all events including football), and several football photos. Crew: 1910 program, Yale real photo postcard, many photos, tickets and great broadside. Track: "World Record Relay Team" great real photo postcard, misc. pubs, and some awesome photos. Misc.: Terrific non-sports with scores of theatrical (programs, broadsides, tickets), "Cornell Smoker" cigarette label & "marked" cigarettes, and even the news that "Titanic Sinks." Leather has been restrung, o/w EX-MT with amazing breakdown value.
