1910-1955 Turkey Red, Topps and Bowman Transportation Related Non-Sport Card Collection
With the advent of most families now owning their own car, the prospects of space travel and the memories of air superiority in World War II, trading card companies issued many sets related to all sorts of travel. Offered in this lot are half dozen issues including a couple of 100 year old groups, plus this lot also includes a near set of 1910 Turkey Red "Automobile Series" cards. Includes: TURKEY RED - 1910 Automobile Series: near-set of (41/50) cards with each card having either a handwritten number or ink stamp on verso. Otherwise, this group has a nice, clean VG to EX appearance. TOPPS: 1952 Wings - complete set of 200 cards. Very popular set of modern fighter jets and other aircraft. Grades 40% NM to NM/MT, 50% EX to EX/MT, 10% lesser. Most of the first 100 cards are high grade, with MANY potential third-party gradable cards throughout the set. Many of the EX to EX/MT cards (most from #s 100-200) are due to centering issues or light dings on the same corner. 1952 Wings - partial set of (155/200) cards. Grades mostly VG to EX with a few better, and about 20% GD/VG. Almost a full run from card #45 on up. 1954 World on Wheels - complete HIGH GRADE set of 160 cards plus four High Numbers. No. 1-160 Grades 60% NM to NM/MT, 28% EX to EX/MT, 9% VG to VG/EX, 3% lesser. Also: #171 (GD), 174 (VG/EX), 178 (GD/VG) and 179 (VG). 1955 Rails & Sails: partial set of 97 cards, with near-complete low # rail set (missing 12, 13, 15) plus low # complete sails run (131-150). Grades mostly EX to NM with 15% lesser. BOWMAN - 1952 Jets, Rockets and Spacemen: complete set of 108 cards. Grades 12% NM, 51% EX to EX/MT, 32% VG to VG/EX, 5% lesser. 1953 3-D Antique Autos – partial set of (19/48) cards w/#1 (GD/VG), 2-6, 8-10, 12, 18-22, 24, 30, 31 and 48 (GD/VG). Grades mostly EX to EX/NM with a few lesser.
