1910 Jack Johnson "Pick the Winner" Postcard
Jack Johnson won the "Battle of the Century" against James Jeffries on July 4, 1910 in Reno, Nevada, sparking both celebrations and riots. Johnson was the first African American heavyweight champion of the world, and held the title for five years. This 3.5" x 6" postcard is distinguished by its red cellophane circle with player image option in the center. The condition is VG and it has been sent through the mail. The green cellophane that would allow the viewer to see Jeffries is missing.
