1910s Abe Attell Signed Oversized Hand-Colored Photograph
Awesome, rare, and aesthetically beautiful hand-colored image of this very significant boxer and sports personality."The Little Hebrew" was a World Featherweight Champion who dominated his weight class for a decade. He was also implicated with Arnold Rothstein in the 1919 Black Sox scandal, and various fight-fixing episodes.Attell is depicted in a classic period fight pose with gloves low and championship belt. Tremendous colors radiate forth. Inscribed and signed in steel-tip fountain pen by the notorious champ, "To my pal Johnnie Ferrosse from the Little Champ Abe Attell."
